A sisterly talk during naptime

by Mr. Sheehy

Spoken across the hallway, under the doors, as Eldest“rests” in our room and Middle“sleeps” in the girls’ room.

Eldest: Middle, turn around.

Eldest: I’m in Daddy’s Red Sox shirt.

Eldest: And Mommy’s flower shirt.

Eldest: Okay, I’m going to go away now Middle. I’ll be back in a minute. I gotta put on this baseball shirt.

Middle: Bye Bye Eldest.

Middle: Time to come out yet Eldest? Time to come out yet? Eldest?!

10 minutes later

Eldest: Middle!

Hair sticks out beneath each door.

Eldest: Do you know why I was gone? I had to put on this shirt.
